Day 275 of 365 (Year Two)
I finished reading Brisingr today. For those of you who don't know, it is Book 3 in the Inheritance Cycle. Originally, based on the first two books, it was supposed to be Book 3 in the Inheritance Trilogy. It wasn't until I got towards the end that I started thinking that there was no way that Paolini could wrap it all up by the end of Book 3.
I wasn't disappointed by the story, far from it. Paolini was only 18 I believe when he wrote Eragon and I've noticed that he has gotten much better at his storytelling as he has aged. The second book, Eldest, was better than the first book and this one was better than both of the previous novels.
What disappointed me the most was that I've been waiting for quite a long time for this novel with the understanding that Brisingr would be the third and final book in the trilogy. I'm happy to find out that there is another novel coming, but it also means that I have to wait for the conclusion to the story. I don't mind waiting, but I wish I had been forewarned. Now I feel like I did when I was waiting for Book 7 of the Potter series to come out.

Wikiapedia:
Bug Jack Barron (1969), a pre-cyberpunk tale of a cynical, exploitative talk-show host who gradually uncovers a conspiracy concerning an immortality treatment and the methods used in that treatment, was serialised in the British magazine New Worlds during Michael Moorcock's editorship. With its explicit language and cynical attitude to politicians, it roused one English Member of Parliament's ire at the magazine's partial funding by the British Arts Council. A memorable quote from this novel is, "The saddest day of your life isn't when you decide to sell out. The saddest day of your life is when you decide to sell out and nobody wants to buy."
